How I Started Blogging and Affiliate Marketing from Nigeria

Starting a blog from scratch felt like a dream at first. I didn’t have a lot of money or fancy tools, but I had something more important — vision and consistency. In this post, I want to share how I started my blogging and affiliate marketing journey from Nigeria, and how you can too.

Why I Chose Blogging

I’ve always been passionate about content creation, digital storytelling, and creativity. Blogging gave me the perfect outlet to express myself, build something meaningful, and eventually make money online. I chose Blogger because it was free, simple, and Google-powered.

Setting Up My Blog

In May 2025, I launched my blog under the brand name ITSYOURS Studios. I began posting weekly content focused on product reviews, online business, and digital success. I also made sure to create all the essential pages like About, Contact, Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions — which helped me prepare for Google AdSense.

Learning About Affiliate Marketing

Alongside blogging, I learned about affiliate marketing — promoting products and earning a commission when someone makes a purchase through my links. I signed up with trusted affiliate networks and began reviewing products I believe in, like Acanva sofas, New Balance sneakers, and more.

Challenges I Faced

Being in Nigeria, I faced challenges like payment restrictions, slow internet, and limited local support. But I didn’t let that stop me. I found platforms that worked with Geegpay and Payoneer, and I started using tools like Canva, ChatGPT, and Blogger to scale up.

My First Wins

The first time I got clicks on my blog and saw affiliate stats going up, I felt excited. Even small wins showed me it was possible to earn online with persistence and value.

What I’ve Learned

• Consistency is everything — post regularly

• Don’t rely only on affiliate links — offer value

• Optimize your blog for mobile users

• Google AdSense requires patience and polish

My Goal Moving Forward

I’m focused on growing ITSYOURS Studios into a powerful content hub. I want to create eBooks, video content, and share more knowledge on making money online. I also plan to continue building trust with my readers and eventually get approved by AdSense to start earning passively.
